Residence:  Lakeside, CA
Occupation: Navy Internal Communications Electrician

I'm an Iowa native who grew up riding in the Des Moines area. Joined the Navy in 1986 1 year out of high school to learn a skill since I wasn't going to be able to afford college. My Navy speciality has had me maintianing shipboard VHF and UHF communications, along with telephony and closed circuit television. For last 10 years have been doing network infrustructure and administrating Unix and Linux systems for the Navy.

I got back into cycling/riding about 6 years ago. I broke my collar bone on a BMX bike in 2002. I then made the switch to recumbents in 2005 to relieve my shoulder pain on long rides. I'm currently riding 100-200 miles a week on my recumbent without any pain other than sore legs.

I'm looking forward to supporting Jim in his bid as the first solo recumbent RAAM racer.
